Nimax's six theatres to reopen

London's six Nimax Theatres will begin a staged reopening from October

The company intends to reopen each of its six West End theatres in sequence, beginning in October on the six-month anniversary of the industry-wide shutdown. Nimax will start with a 'soft reopening' of the theatres, however, with each of the venues hosting a special run of socially distanced performances for a limited time rather than the West End hits and long-runners which should have been on stage this year.

Starting 22 October at the Apollo, the first of these special performances will be the hit med school tell-all 'This Is Going To Hurt' by Adam Kay. The remainder of the lineup is yet to be introduced, however it will see the lights go on once more at the Vaudeville, Duchess, Palace, Lyric and Garrick theatres.

Nimax has stated that while the selection of socially distanced performances won't be enough to earn a profit, they will help ensure them avoid wide-scale redundancies such as other London-based companies have had to undergo.
