Choreographer John Cranko's stirring rendition of Alexander Pushkin's Eugene Onegin, set to Tchaikovsky's mesmerizing score taken from the opera, is stunningly presented by the Royal Ballet, in a reimagining of Pushkin's vast poetic tale. Performed in various forms over the past century-and-a-half, be it as an opera, a ballet, play, musical or movie, Onegin is a dark and passionate story, full of unrequited love, heartbreaking duels and all-consuming regret.
