Blood Brothers

Blood Brothers at Phoenix Theatre

Why see Blood Brothers?

Willy Russell's award-winning musical tale of Liverpudlian twins separated at birth.

The story of Blood Brothers follows twin boys who were split up as babies to give them both a better future. Though they grow up apart and lead very different lives in very different social circumstances, fate decrees that their paths will cross again, in both friendship and anger.

Blood Brothers is one of the longest running and best-loved musicals in the West End, the current run having started two decades ago in 1988. The original West End production of Blood Brothers won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical in 1983, with leading lady Barbara Dickson also winning Actress Of The Year In A Musical. When the show was revived in 1988, Con O'Neill won the Laurence Olivier Award for Outstanding Performance Of The Year By An Actor In A Musical.

Among the many actresses to have played the lead role of Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers over the years are Barbara Dickson, Kiki Dee, Lyn Paul, Siobhan McCarthy, Mel C and Linda, Bernie, Denise and Maureen Nolan.

Amazing - and so glad I got to see her play this part. ... Read more

Never fails, entertainment gold

I have seen this show many times, The Woking show is superb in every respect The Theatre itself is an excellent venue, the location. seating, facilties and STAFF are great. Plenty of eating places around, plus bars including within the Theatre entrances. The Sets and Actors bring to life a fabulous story/musical and heart rendering reflection of social divides. You will laugh and cry, above all you will be well entertained. Not to be missed. CB ... Read more
