Selling fast! Don't miss out
Andrew Scott makes his long-awaited stage return in this brand-new adaptation of Chekhov's masterpiece from Simon Stephens. Directed by Sam Yates, with design from Rosanna Vize, Scott takes on every role in this beautifully realised universal tale of familial strife, dashed hopes, ennui, and unrequited love.
With an engagement at the Richmond Theatre and the Duke of Yorks Theatre this September, don't miss your chance to see Scott live - he truly is one of the finest stage actors London-Theatreland has ever had the joy of watching!
What is the story?
If you thought your family reunions were tough, spare a thought for Vanya, whose life is turned upside down by the appearance of his late sister's husband and his glamorous new wife Yelena. Interrupting his daily schedule of bemoaning provincial ennui with his friend Astrov, he not only has to deal with his pompous dear brother-in-law (and landlord) and his money-making schemes - notably selling the Estate Vanya has loyally managed for him for many years - but with mounting feelings for the beguiling woman who has taken his sister's place. He better act fast though, because Yelena's admirers have already begun forming a disorderly queue...
