A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol at Bridge Theatre

Why see A Christmas Carol?

The Bridge Theatre's 'just about perfect' production

Returning for 2022, the Bridge Theatre channel Dickens in this stunning three-person adaptation of A Christmas Carol starring stage stalwart Simon Russell Beale alongside Eben Figueiredo and Lyndsey Marshall, directed by Nicholas Hytner. As Christmassy as a turkey with all the trimmings, this "just about perfect" (The Times) production brings Victorian London to life as it follows the spooky story of miserly businessman Ebeneezer Scrooge over the course of one transformative, vision-filled Christmas Eve.

Published in 1843, A Christmas Carol quickly came to define the season as not just a time for gift giving and feasting, but as a time to reflect on our fellow man, putting charity at the centre of Dickens' message.
