Paterson Joseph To Star As Ebenezer Scrooge!

Author News DeskNews Desk, July 22nd, 2019

Returning to the Old Vic this year.

Stage and screen actor Paterson Joseph is the latest star to step into the shoes of the Christmas hating Ebenezer Scrooge when A Christmas Carol returns to the Old Vic Theatre this November. Adapted from the Dickens' classic by Tony winner Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) this will be the third time that the Yuletide hit runs at the legendary London venue.

After starring on TV in Peep Show and Green Wing Joseph has been seen on stage across the country, including time at the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Matthew Wharcus returns to direct the production which features design by Rob Howell and movement by Lizzi Gee.

A Christmas Carol runs at the Old Vic Theatre from November 23, 2019, to January 18, 2020.

What is A Christmas Carol about?

Penny-pinching and bad-tempered old miser Ebenezer Scrooge goes on the adventure of his life, from his past to his present and beyond and learns that the value of gold will never equal that of genuine love for his fellow men. The classic tale thrills with its beloved characters and message of compassion, love and kindness and of course, Christmas spirit.

Tickets for A Christmas Carol at the Old Vic are now on sale.
