Much-loved British actor and Olivier winner Tamsin Grieg stars in a London revival of Deep Blue Sea at Theatre Royal Haymarket in spring 2025. An insightful masterpiece created by Terrence Rattigan in 1952, the play follows a woman who defies conservative 1950s convention to leave her husband for a dashing ex-RAF pilot.

Directed by  Lindsay Posner, the production saw huge acclaim on its Theatre Royal Bath premiere in the summer of 2024, with Grieg reprising her stunning performance alongside Tony nominee Finbar Lynch.

What Is The Story?

After a failed suicide attempt, Hester Collyer is left fighting between the idea of carrying on with her life. With her marriage to a respectable Magistrate in ruins after her affair with Freddie, a former spitfire pilot with more than a passing friendship with the bottle, she finds herself used and abandoned, living in a tenement house. Whilst there she meets Mr Miller, a doctor who was struck off for his homosexuality and the two, moved by each other's plight form a bond that saves them both.
