Why see Hershey Felder as Maestro Leonard Bernstein?
Playing in rep with his Irving Berlin show
Following his hugely successful London show last year at the Other Palace, The Pianist of Willesden Lane, American singer and perfomer Hershey Felder returns in two shows playing iconic composers Irving Berlin and Leonard Bernstein. Last year saw Felder named in Time Magazine as one of their top ten theatre artists for 2016. Playing in rep, these two shows alternate at the Other Palace, using music and anecdotes to play the two musical theatre legends.
Among Bernstein's biggest success includes his score for the pioneering musical West Side Story as well as his work for Candide and On the Town. Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim's West Side Story features a collection of standards that includes 'Tonight,' 'America,' 'Maria,' 'I Feel Pretty' and 'Somewhere' - widely regarded as one of the best ever written. And the extraordinary, Tony-winning choreography by Jerome Robbins completely changed the language of Broadway dance.
