A Chorus Line

A Chorus Line at London Palladium

Why see A Chorus Line?

LINE UP, LINE UP AND EXPERIENCE ONE OF THE GREATS!

Invigorating, touching and spectacular, A Chorus Line tells the timeless tale of aspirations and fears of auditioning dancers, and exposes both the dazzling and dark sides of showbiz. This iconic musical masterpiece has won multiple awards and reaped praise from critics across the globe. Directed by Bob Avian, who co-choreographed the original 1975 version, the revival of A Chorus Line stars John Partridge (of EastEnders fame), Scarlett Strallen and Leigh Zimmerman. The euphoric musical is brought to life with Marvin Hamlisch's famous musical score (with lyrics by Edward Kleban) includes 'Sing!', 'I hope I get it' and 'One (Singular Sensation)'.

WHAT IS A CHORUS LINE ABOUT?

23 hopefuls, only 8 places, A Chorus Line tells the story of a group of dancers auditioning to be part of a Broadway dance show. The initial group is whittled away, dancer by dancer, to seventeen then to eight, by Zach the charismatic director. As each dancer step forward out of anonymity to audition, his or her story unfurls, honestly and openly, revealing hopes, dreams, vulnerabilities, fear of failure and desperation to succeed.

Amidst the pushy wannabes softer characters emerge; a young woman who moved to dance as a means to escape the violence at home; a man struggles with his homosexuality. Some sweet, some sour, they all struggle for their once-in-a-lifetime chance to dance on the big stages.

Excellent

I went with a friend to see the matinee show yesterday afternoon. I knew the film very well, and my friend didn't know it at all-had never seen it. We both thoroughly enjoyed the show. It doesn't have an interval because it would spoil the show if it did. Just go and enjoy it. ... Read more
