West End Premiere
11 Weeks Only!
Following a triumphant premiere at the Edinburgh International Festival, David Ireland's captivating play The Fifth Step arrives in the West End this year for a limited 11-week run at @sohoplace. The gripping two-hander stars Olivier Award-winner Jack Lowden, reprising his role as Luka, alongside Emmy and BAFTA Award-winner Martin Freeman as James. Directed in an in-the-round setting by Finn den Hertog, the work invites audiences into the raw and revealing world of two men navigating addiction and recovery.
What's It About?
As Luka and James confront the secrets that tether them to their pasts, the fragile trust they've built is put to the ultimate test. Grounded in Ireland's personal experiences, sharp and provocative humour captures the fragile yet powerful bond forged between sponsor and newcomer in Alcoholics Anonymous.
Please note: This production contains strong language, comments on religion and sexual themes.
