So very! The deliciously dark high school movie gets a musical adaptation!
So very! The original mean girls of teen-movie stardom are back in this deliciously dark musical adaptation from Laurence O'Keefe and Kevin Murphy. Heathers The Musical first captivated audiences during a sold-out run in Los Angeles back in 2013 before an impressive Off-Broadway run the subsequent year. Its success story continued with two prior UK tours and West End appearances in 2018 and 2021, followed by a re-staging at The Other Palace from 2021 to 2023.
Based on the 1989 cult-classic, Heathers is the story of Veronica and her inner turmoil as she traverses a high school ruled over by an intimating trio of scrunchie loving dictators - the Heathers. Consisting of Heather Chandler, Heather McNamara and Heather Duke, they stalk the halls of Westerburg High with an iron fist, verbally and mentally destroying anyone who gets in the way of their carefully guarded hierachy.
But when the mysterious JD comes to class, Veronica may have found herself an ally in her hatred - one with murder on his mind. Pitch-black and racously funny, its a no-holds-barred look at the social strata of high school and the fate of anyone who might rally against it.
With a raft of songs including the infectious 'Candy Store', 'Prom or Hell' and many more, this bonkers adaptation is sure to have you rolling in the aisles, or if not, left with a finer appreciation of croquet.
The cast of Heathers includes Jenna Innes as Veronica Sawyer, Keelan McAuley as JD, Esme Bowdler as Heather Chandler, Sedona Sky as Heather Duke, Daisy Twells as Heather McNamara, Amy Miles as Martha Dunnstock, Lucy Sinclair as both Ms. Fleming and Veronica's Mom, Ivn Fernndez Gonzlez as Kurt Kelly, Jason Battersby as Ram Sweney, Alexander Service as Kurt's Dad, Big-Bud, and Principal, and Conor McFarlane as Ram's Dad, Veronica's Dad, and Coach.
