Million Dollar Quartet

Why see Million Dollar Quartet?

Martin Kemp Leads the hit jukebox musical!

Returning to London for the Christmas season, starring actor-singer Martin Kemp as Sam Phillips! The Tony Award-winning Million Dollar Quartet is a staged recreation of the famed jam session between four of music's most extraordinary talents - Elvis Presley, Jonny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis. This smash-hit musical is not just a stunning performance of some of the golden era's most memorable songs, but an imagined glance into the lives and personalities of people known only through their music, revealing personal ambitions, rivalry and envy between each of the iconic figures.

For one night only, the biggest four stars on stage!

On 4 December 1956, popular music was in the midst of a remarkable change. Four young musicians gathered together at Sun Studios in Memphis for the first - and only - time in their careers. Elvis Presley, Jonny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis, who had all been discovered by the founder of Sun Records, Sam Phillips, have been gathered together for a unique jam session and to bond as peers.

After being launched into musical stardom by Sun Records, Elvis had since departed for the glittering heights of RCA; Cash was a fast-rising star, but was torn between his twin loves of gospel and pop; Perkins, harbouring more than a little resentment about Elvis stealing his record "Blue Suede Shoes", is on the hunt for his next hit; and wild and cocky Lewis, the youngest of the four, is Sam Phillips' most recent signing.

Tales of how each artist reached that point and what is planned for the future unravel in an explosive evening, and what began as a simple recorded jam session turned out to be one of the most prominent nights in rock 'n roll history, and the brief formation of the band that never hit the limelight; The Million Dollar Quartet.

Fantastic! Loved every second of it!

I took my husband to see this tonight, as a Valentine's gift. He was really looking forward to it and me, I was just going because he wanted to see it. I'm so glad I was there, it was amazing, brilliant! From the moment they started playing I was mesmerised. I was dancing in my seat! :-) I left the theatre feeling excited and laughing and happy. If you're not sure whether to go or not, just do! ... Read more
