A Room With a View

The return of Felicity Kendal!
Why see A Room With a View?
Lucy Kendal stars in this new adaptation
Felicity Kendal takes on the starring role of snobbish spinster Charlotte Bartlett, who chaperone's her pretty but naive younger cousin Lucy on a summer tour of Europe. Exploring themes of class division and fears of loneliness, this sparkling adaptation of EM Forster's elegant comedy novel paints a nostalgic portrait of teenage innocence and love in a hot climate. This play follows the 1985 uber-romantic movie adaptation starring Helena Bonham-Carter as the young Lucy.
Whilst in sultry Italy, young English rose Lucy Honeychurch meets and falls in love with George Emerson, a young man from the trades class, who is touring with his father. Horrified to find the young couple kissing and alone, her staid older cousin and chaperone Charlotte whisks her away to Rome, and then home to their Surrey estate.
Swearing Lucy to silence over her rash actions, Cahrlotte believes that her young charge is finally safe and is convinced of this when she becomes engaged to a prim and proper young man of similar background. However, lives are turned upside down again when the Emersons move to the village....
