Greek myth meets Strictly in a wacky summer panto!
Welcome to an uproarious account of the 12 labours of Hercules, complete with slapstick comedy, dance and of course music! Described as a non-Christmas pantomime, "Hercules" is the brainchild Pete Shenton and Tom Roden of New Art Club, a pair of pioneering artists, comedy theatre makers and choreographers who have raised the roof at Edinburgh and regularly perform at the Soho Theatre. If you've ever wanted to see a paso doble version of a bullfight, or comedy wrestling in full Ancient Greek costume, then look no further than this energetic farce!
About as loosely based on the 12 Labours of Hercules as a Greek chiton (look it up), we follow the eponymous hero as he battles all manner of wild and scary monsters, but not without some comedy and energetic dance thrown in to beat his fearsome foes. Look out for a wackily choreographed wrestling match; a Paso Doble-style bullfight; grappling with a multi-headed dancing Hydra monster plus a fierce hula-hooping Amazon queen.
Chiton: Greek item of clothing held together strategically in place by big metal pins. Don't say we aren't kind to you!
