Harry Potter And The Cursed Child

Why see Harry Potter And The Cursed Child?

The Story Continues On Stage

There's magic in every moment at Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the most awarded play in history and "one of the most defining pop culture events of the decade" (Forbes).

Nearly two decades after their heroic deeds, Harry, Ron, and Hermione find themselves embarking on a thrilling new quest. This time, they are accompanied by a courageous new generation who have just begun their journey at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Expect astonishing magic, a breathtaking journey through time, and a grand showdown to stop the powers of evil, all with the fate of the future hanging by a thread.

This one-of-a-kind theatrical experience is packed with "thrilling theatricality and pulse-pounding storytelling" (The Hollywood Reporter). It will leave you "audibly wowed, cheering and gasping" (The Telegraph), as "visions of pure enchantment send shivers down your spine" (Rolling Stone). "It is out of this world, it's magic, it's a hit" (The Times).

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is one play presented in two parts, which are intended to be seen in order on the same day (matinee and evening) or on two consecutive evenings.

What Is Harry Potter And The Cursed Child About?

The producers of The Cursed Child want every Potter fan heading into the play to be surprised by its twists and turns, so we won't reveal too much. We can say that Harry, Ron, and Hermoine are now all in their late 30s, married with kids and respectfully employed. Harry and Ginny's son Albus is just starting his first term at Hogwarts, yet his father's reputation hangs heavy around his neck, and he resents being only known as the son of The Boy Who Lived. Yet when sinister forces from Harry's past reemerge into the world, Albus must embrace the Potter legacy for the battles to come...

breathtaking magical hijinks

It's another two part review from London Theatreland's Kitty and Teia, who were bowled over by the further adventures of the Boy Who Lived (and Grew Up And Got A Desk Job). Read on to see what they had to say about 2016's biggest theatre event.

Special effects are magical but play is lengthy

Part1 we felt dragged a bit, part 2 was much better. The effects on stage were magical, very good. We enjoyed it and defo worth a watch. However the actors aren’t microphoned so at times it was hard to hear the dialogue. A lot of others around us said the same thing. And we also thought that the play could really be done in half the time as certain parts did drag! It’s a cramped theatre too so anyone with leg or knee issues be aware the seats and space is minimal very limited leg room. Otherwise a great story and a great ending to the Harry Potter saga. Pleased we’ve seen it. ... Read more

Amazing Show

We absolutely loved it and the special effects were incredible but avoid seats 28, 29 and 30 on each side as, despite being the third most expensive seats, you'll find yourself behind a column and unable to see the sides of the stage and some of the wonderful performances of the talented cast. ...
