Poldark's very own Aidan Turner makes his West End Debut in a rare revival of Martin McDonagh's dark comedy as Mad Padraic, an Irishman with terrorist tendencies whose proclivities are deemed too twisted even for the IRA.

Set in Ireland in 1993, it's a satirical observation of violence and terrorism in contemporary culture through a dark yet thoroughly funny script that begins when the renegade discovers his cat is ill.

Well on the way to becoming one of the finest actors of his era, Turner's performance has been called 'magnetic' and 'terrific' as he mines the twists and turns of McDonagh's shocking script.

What is it about?

The Northern Ireland peace process is taking its first faltering steps, and Mad Padraic is hard at work pulling out the toenails of James a local drug dealer when the news comes through that Mad Padraic's beloved cat, Wee Thomas, is poorly. Pausing the torture to journey back to his home island of Inishmore, Padriac is crushed when he discovers Thomas isn't just sick, he's been brutally murdered.

Intent on revenge, even if it means destroying his own father, Padraic steps up to the fore. But just as he's about to end his poor pa's life, there's an unexpected knock at the door.
