The Comedy About Spies
Yet more genius from Mischief Theatre
Why see The Comedy About Spies?
A Cold War Farce
From the creators of The Play That Goes Wrong and The Comedy About a Bank Robbery comes an exhilarating new production that will leave you shaken (not stirred) with laughter! The Comedy About Spies takes place swinging 1960s London, with chaos ensuing when a British double agent swipes the blueprints for a top-secret weapon being developed. Writers Henry Lewis and Henry Shields have redefined modern farce through their brilliant work as part of Mischief Theatre, and this new piece under the direction of Matt Di Carlo (The Play That Goes Wrong off-Broadway, Moulin Rouge) is set to be absolutely no exception.
What Is The Story?
Following the theft of the plans for a secret-weapon, the CIA and the KGB descend upon the luxurious Piccadilly Hotel to make contact with the British double agent responsible. But when an unwitting couple and an actor auditioning to be in the James Bond movies get tangled up in things, the stage is set for a whirlwind of mistaken identities and the most farcical espionage in the whole of the Cold War!
