The Almeida's success in the West End continues with their latest hit, The Twilight Zone, which is ready to hit the Ambassador's Theatre this March. Adapted from the eery and wildly popular 60s TV show of the same name, The Twilight Zone dives in the unchartered waters of our imagination, and all the power that it holds.
Leading you on a chilling and extraordinary journey through the impossible and paranormal, The Twilight Zone distorts the conception of what is real and what is not. In this unpredictable evening of entertainment, immerse yourself into the the land of your mind and unlock the door to its wild and dangerous possibilities.
Adapted by Anne Washburn and directed by Olivier award winner Richard Jones, The Twilight Zone is set in the hysteria of the cold war, where paranoia is rife and where people disappear at the drop of a hat. Based on eight stories from the original screen-writers Rod Serling, Charles Beaumont and Richard Matheson, the strikingly innovative The Twilight Zone continues to delight and confuse audiences, 50 years since its first episode aired.
First premiering in 1959 The Twilight Zone carved it's own gap into the ever-growing television market. With each episode taking inspiration from a different genre (fantasy, science fiction, suspense and psychological thriller) The Twilight Zone opened its audiences up to new ideas and new possibilities. Shot in black and white The Twilight Zone ran for five series through to 1964, since then this hugely important work has been revived twice in the 1980s and early naughties on American networks. With a third revival rumoured to land in 2019, it seems that the world is not quite does with The Twilight Zone just yet...
