Pressure is really the play to watch this summer - whatever the weather
The British obsession with the weather takes centre stage in this highly regarded hit by Olivier winner David Haig, telling the true story of the allied meteorologists charged with the most important forecast in the history of WWII, that of June 6th, 1944 - D-Day. Already a critical storm after runs in Edinburgh, Chichester and at the Park Theatre, Pressure now transfers to the West End for a run begining on the 74th anniversary of that famous date.
The decision that changed the course of history
In a tense, yet extremely thrilling performance, Haig stars as Group Captain James Stagg, sombre Scot and Chief Metrological Officer for the allied forces. As the proposed date for the biggest amphibious landing in history approaches, he and his team battle against General Dwight D. Eisenhower (Malcolm Sinclair), who wants give Hitler his due as soon as possible. But with 350,000 lives at stake, Stagg is not taking this assignment lightly, refusing to gamble against the notoriously changeable British weather.
Raising itself above other WWII-set plays with originality, comedy and drama, Pressure is marked as one of this summer's must see shows.

If you thought that David Haig's Pressure was simply a play about the weather, you'd be seriously mistaken. Set on the Friday before D Day, Haig's play takes us behind the history books and enlightens us Brits to what it actually took to win WWII - one m
