The Truth

"a gently disquieting, sharply observed new play about the nature of lies and truth."
Mark Shenton
Why see The Truth?
And nothing but the truth!
The Menier Chocolate Factory presents the UK premiere of double Moliere winning Florian Zeller, one of the most in demand playwrights working today. After the success of The Father, a touching portrait of life been a daughter and her ailing father, The Truth takes a lighter tone, being a witty farce of adultery and friendship.
Like his other plays, The Truth will be adapted by Christopher Hampton, with direction from Lindsay Posner.
So what is the truth?
Concerning morally fuzzy (and married) businessman Michel and his affair with doctor Alice, who is also similarly attached, The Truth examines the consequences of deceit, pushing Michel to breaking point as he tries to maintain a happy facade and an explosive affair. But may have less cause to worry as it becomes increasingly obvious that his wife may also have taken a lover, one rather too close to home for his liking...
