Popular children's theatre group Scamp Theatre are back at London's Leicester Square Theatre this Christmas season with their acclaimed adaptation of the popular children's book Stick Man. Based on the illustrated work by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, the duo behind the Gruffalo phenomenon, this stage production sees three talented actors act out the scenes, and is filled with puppetry, songs, live music and funky moves; Touching, funny and utterly original, this fabulous show has proved to be a surefire hit when it premiered in 2014, and has garnered praise from other authors and playwrights for its ingenuity.
Stick Man is an anthropomorphic twig who lives in a high tree with his family and of course, Mrs Stick. But one day Stick Man discovers that the world on the ground is a risky and dangerous place, where a dog attempts to pick him up and play with him, a swan tries building him into her nest, and he escapes from ending up as firewood! This charming tale teaches children about gratitude and not to take things for granted.
