Austentatious: An Improvised Jane Austen Novel

Why see Austentatious: An Improvised Jane Austen Novel?

AN OUTRAGEOUS IMPROV COMEDY, THAT WOULD HAVE JANE AUSTEN BLUSHING!

This hour-long comedy play has had the gossiping classes, well, gossiping (!) whilst doing the circuit tour around Britain, since debuting at last year's Edinburgh Fringe. In the distinct style of Miss Austen herself, this improv production takes the audiences' suggestions, and creates an entirely new "novel" at every show!

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Well, good sirs and kind ladies, therein lies the beauty of improv! Although the show is based on the works of Jane Austen, no two performances are ever the same, as it is 100% based on the suggestions of the audience! The experienced cast will use your suggestions to create scenarios beyond the wildest imagination of Austen's previous works, and we daresay, any of her would-be usurpers.

Each performance takes place in true period costume, with a live cello accompaniment, which lends a real period treat for the audience, and making the shenanigans on-stage simply too funny to miss!

DID YOU KNOW?

It would appear that Miss Austen is continuing to write from the great beyond. In 2009 author Seth Grahame-Smith co-authoured with her the critically acclaimed sci-fi parody novel Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, which sees our heroine Lizzie battle the undead, with her beloved Mr Darcy. Ben H Winters, also in 2009, co-wrote wrote Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters, in which the Regency period sees creatures from oceans turn against humans, in an event called The Alteration.
