Richard O'Brien brings his "Rocky Horror Show" sequel to the stage!
Richard O'Brien is back, with his long-awaited stage sequel to the worldwide hit The Rocky Horror Show. Brad and Janet are back in the fray, but instead of battling transsexual aliens, this time they have to contend with the world of TV and minor celebdom where the stars are armoured with bleach-white teeth and immaculate make-up, the studio audience are literally baying for blood, and people will stop at nothing to get the ratings through the roof. Arguably more relevant now than its film release way back in 1981!
Set seven years after the events of the Rocky Horror Show, Brad and Janet have settled into a life of domestic drudgery. In order to spice up their love life, they venture into the breakneck world of Denton's television studio to join a reality tv show called Faith Factory, where the executives guarantee that at least one person will receive the shock of their life. It's all sex, medication and twists galore as Brad and Janet try to escape this asylum or face forever being trapped by the exploitative, disturbingly close brother and sister duo of TV Doctors Cosmo and Nation McKinley.
The 1981 sleeper hit film has been updated and tweaked by O'Brien for a brand-new staging, with music by Richard Hartley and lyrics by O'Brien.
