Sound Becomes Story

The art of foley - a.k.a. sound design - in film and theatre is often overlooked, but in this show a team of foley artists take the central spotlight. Cow | Deer is a unique, sensory theatre experience that conjures the presence of two creatures - one domestic, one wild - through sound alone. 

With no spoken words at all, this collaboration between foley artists Katie Mitchell, Nina Segal and Melanie Wilson, co-produced with the National Theatre of Greece, invites you to attune your ears and step quietly into another way of being, as branches creak, hooves land on mud and wind curls through the air, fully immersing you in their world.
