Standing at the Sky's Edge

West End Transfer
After scooping the 2023 Olivier awards for Best New Musical and Best New Score, this heartfelt new musical from Chris Bush and indie icon Richard Hawley has announced it will make its West End debut in spring 2024, beginning performances at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in February.
Directed by Sheffield Theatre's Robert Hastie, don't miss this glorious new musical that pays tribute to the power of community as it follows three generations through six decades on one Sheffield housing estate. With glowing 5-star reviews from critics and audiences, it's set to be one of 2024's early highlights and perhaps a modern classic in years to come.
Originating at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre in 2019 before moving to the National Theatre in 2022, Standing at the Sky's Edge is set in the city's Park Hill estate, and follows some of the lives that lived there. Built in 1957, it was granted a Grade Listing in 1998 and has often featured in the Arts, with mentions in songs by Pulp, The Arctic Monkeys, and Yung Blood, and as a setting for the This Is England series and Doctor Who.
