Crazy For You

Crazy For You at Gillian Lynne Theatre

Why see Crazy For You?

Now Showing!

There's nothing like a bombastic bobby dazzling Broadway musical to raise spirits and this homegrown production from Susan Stroman is here to prove just that! Premiering at the esteemed Chichester Festival in 2022 this exuberant new iteration of the Ken Ludwig, George and Ira Gershwin classic stars Charlie Stemp as starry-eyed Bobby, who finds himself caught between his passion for theatre and the dreary family banking business when he's sent to foreclose on a theatre in the desert of Nevada, with Carly Anderson as the spirited Polly Baker and Tom Edder as showman Bela Zangler.

Featuring a veritable raft of George and Ira's most cherished tunes, including 'I Got Rhythm', 'Embraceable You', 'They Can't Take That Away From Me' and many, many more, head back to the heady 1930s with this buoyant song and dance spectacle!

What is the story?

Bobby Child may be the heir to a banking empire, but all he's ever really wanted is to be up on the stage. When his domineering mother assigns him the task of foreclosing a rundown theatre in a remote Nevada town, Bobby's dancing feet get the better of him, and he determines to disregard his assignment, and instead, restore the theatre to its former glory. Add the beautiful Polly, daughter of the theatre owner, into the mix, and it looks like Bobby's found his real calling. That is until his mother arrives on the scene, and threatens to put Bobby back on the straight and narrow!

Brilliant engaging fun

Charlie Stemp once more proves himself one of the West End's most capable performers in this delightful production, now showing at the Gillian Lynne Theatre following a smash-hit tryout at Chichester Festival Theatre.

PHENOMENAL choreography and timing

Having been in the arts industry for over 15 years, I have seen many a show in the west end, aswell as training professionally. This show set the bar high, the choreography and timing of use of the props was impeccable. Pushing the boundaries of performing challenging dance numbers whilst harmonising just proves how talented this cast is. The show isn’t shouted about enough, in awe of the main duo Bobby and Polly. Absolutely sensational. I’ve been talking about the show non stop since seeing it on Friday! Big welldone to all involved! ... Read more

Poor view for a dance show

The songs and acting were good but if you want to see the dance routines don't sit in the first 4 rows as you won't be able to see their feet. The stage is too high at the gillian Lynne theatre ... Read more

Best We Have Seen!

Having travelled from Australia, and hitting London for our final week of our holiday just to see shows, this was hands down the best show that we saw all week. I cannot believe the talent, the energy and the utter joy that this show and brilliant cast gave us. Visually stunning and worth every penny. We want it to tour Australia so that we can see it again, and again, and again. Thank you. ... Read more
