Mel Brooks brings his hugely successful 2007 re-imagining of Young Frankenstein to the West End, following its critically acclaimed run on Broadway, and the following US tour. Co-directed by Brooks and Susan Stroman, who also choreographed the adaptation for the stage, the show will star Hadley Fraser (Les Miserables), Leslie Joseph and the hilarious Ross Noble!
Based on the smash hit 1974 film starring the late Gene Wilder, Young Frankenstein is the wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Mary Shelley classic novel. When Frederick Frankenstein, an esteemed New York brain surgeon and professor, inherits a castle and of course, a fully-stocked laboratory in Transylvania from his grandfather (the deranged genius Victor van Frankenstein), he faces a dilemma: does he continue to deny his family's sordid past, or does he stay in Transylvania to carry on his grandfather's mad experiments to make the dead walk again? And what about romance with his suspiciously attractive assistant Inga?
Young Frankenstein features music, lyrics by the three-time Tony Award winner Brooks, from the book co-written with three-time Tony Award winner Thomas Meehan.
