Celebrating 25 years of Birmingham Stage Company!
Calling all fans of gross, grim and utterly hilarious - Horrible Histories once again heads to the West End this summer with their brand-new show, courtesy of Birmingham Stage Company to mark their 25th anniversary! A British phenomenon on both television and the stage; it has seen 12 years of stage adaptations, with six of those enjoying prime engagements in the West End. This new show will combine all the best bits of their previous Barmy Britain Parts One, Two and Three shows, plus last year's The Best of Barmy Britain, and a brand new scene featuring Shakespeare!
History at school is boring. We know this from memory. But what if you could hear from the people that made history themselves, that included all the horrible bits in that the teachers skate over? That is the premise of Horrible Histories. Great for a family audience, it taps into the most interesting parts of history, with cameos from historical figures and re-enactments that brings the past to roaring, colourful life. Spanning thousands of years from the revolting Romans, the vicious Vikings, evil Elizabeth I, scheming Shakespeare and all the through to the frightening First World War, it asks you to imagine what you would do in each of these eras, and how to survive.
