Judy!

Simon Holt's arrangement of Rackham's apt selection of Garland's songs is lovely, as is the fluid way in which the surrounding cast become her band on the multi-level set.

Transferring to the West End!
Previously staged at the Southwark Playhouse in 2016 under the title Through The Mill, this charming biographical musical play makes its transfer to the West End this summer, at the Arts Theatre in Soho. Created by Ray Rackham, this production takes you through three critical stages in the life and career of MGM superstar Judy Garland; from her early days about to film The Wizard Of Oz, her tumultuous period hosting her own show at the Palace Theatre, and through to her days of CBS television specials; still troubled, but all the wiser for it.
Reprising their roles as the three ages of Judy are Helen Sheals as CBS Judy, Belinda Wollaston as Palace Judy and Lucy Penrose as Young Judy, the production features some of Garland's most-loved songs including The Trolley Song,The Man That Got Away and Over the Rainbow, plus others that have been mostly forgotten. The cast are joined by an on-stage band of actor-musicians who help us to delve deep into her experiences through her music. A tragic figure, Garland's endless appeal comes from her utter determination to perform and desire for adoration, no matter where it came from.
