Albion

'It's England really, isn't it? A climate without cloud and rain isn't honest.'

Kicking off the Almeida new season
Tony Award-nominated British treasure Victoria Hamilton returns to the London stage this autumn, in a new drama by Mike Bartlett that kicks off the Almeida's new season. Known primarily for her roles in costume dramsa including The Crown, Goodbye Mr Chips and various Jane Austen adaptations take on the role of a woman who decides to find hope by restoring a ruined garden in England's rural countryside.
Directed by Rupert Goold, this marks the second collaboration between him and Bartlett, since the phenomenally successful King Charless III, which later gained success on Broadway, and also seeing an adaptation to film, starring the late Tim Piggott-Smith who originated the role as the ill-fated monarch.
