What did the critics think of An Ideal Husband?

Currently playing at the Vaudeville Theatre.
The year-long Oscar Wilde season is still blazing strongly at the Vaudeville with this latest production. Playing until July 14 An Ideal Husband stars real-life father and son duo Edward and Freddie Fox.
The Evening Standard praised director Jonathan Church saying that '...Church's production triumphs because it skilfully balances Wilde's light and shade, rather than overdosing on epigrams and skimping on emotions. It's light on its feet but also profound; witty but, when it really matters, true'. The Daily Mail praised rising star Freddie Fox, saying that 'It is Mr Fox's night. How beautifully he moves on stage. He plays Wilde with a free, enlivening normality - no heavy pauses or hammery. This performance marks his coming of age on the West End stage'.
The Times were also delighted with the production, ending their flattering review with 'This is the third play in Oscar Wilde season at the Vaudeville. We've already seen A Woman of No Importance and Lady Windermere's Fan with The Importance of Being Earnest to come this July. This is the best of the lot so far and the Foxes can take the credit for that'.
