First Look At Emilia At The Vaudeville Theatre!

Author News DeskNews Desk, March 19th, 2019

Now playing through to June 15.

After a scintillating run at Shakespeare's Globe last year, Morgan Lloyd Malcolm's Emilia has landed in London's West End. Take a look at the cast in action with these brand new photos!

Emilia is breaking the West End mould with an all-female cast as they shed light on the mysterious woman in Shakespeare's famous sonnets.

Leading the cast are Saffron Coomber as Emilia 1, Adelle Leonce as Emilia 2 and Clare Perkins as Emilia 3 who depict the writer and muse at different stages of her life. The other members of the ensemble cast are Nadia Albina, Anna Andresen, Jackie Clune, Jenni Maitland, Carolyn Pickles, Sarah Seggari, Sophie Stone, Charity Wakefield, Amanda Wilkin and Tanika Yearwood.

Emilia is directed by Nicole Charles.

What is Emilia about?

After some four hundred years as at best, a muse and at worst, a footnote, the supposed 'Dark Lady' of Shakespeare's Sonnets steps out from the pages of literature and into the spotlight in this specially commissioned play by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm. Focussing on the real woman behind the words, the titular Emilia Basson, this sell-out show transfers from the Globe to the West End to bring her story to new audiences this spring.

Emilia is now playing at the Vaudeville Theatre.
