Why see The Rocky Horror Picture Show?

Great Scott!

Gird your loins and grab your fishnets London, because The Rocky Horror Picture show is back in the West End for a limited time only. With Strictly's Ore Oduba reprising his role as Brad Majors alongside Stephen Webb as Frank 'n' Furter, Haley Flaherty as Janet and Kristian Lavercombe as Riff Raff (who to date, has clocked up over 2000 performances as the Transvylanian butler!)

A true cult classic, The Rocky Horror Picture show is the story of Brad and Janet, two recently engaged college kids who head off on a road trip to tell their old professor the news in person. But disaster strikes when they get a flat tyre in the middle of the night and have to call for help. Luckily for them salvation comes in the form of the enigmatic and very mad scientist Doctor Frank-N-Furter and his trusty band of servants and very strange hangers-on, who've gathered for a very special purpose...

It's just a jump to the left

First running all the way back in 1973, Rocky Horror is an affectionate parody of Sci Fi and horror B movies of the 1950s with hilarious and catchy songs such as the dance-tastic 'Time Warp', 'Dammit Janet', and many more. Premiering at the Royal Court Theatre (Upstairs) the origInal London run lasted 7 years and spawned numerous worldwide productions and the beloved movie starring Tim Curry, Patricia Quinn, Susan Sarandon, and Meatloaf alongside creator Richard O'Brein.

Shiver in anticipation

Great Scott! Rocky Horror is back in the West End for a limited run with creator Richard O'Brien in the driving seat once more, though, down to age I imagine, he has taken the role of the omnipresent narrator, rather than his more energetic butler

Almost perfect

I've seen 17 of these and this narrator was even better than Nicolas Parsons! So interactive and so funny. Overall, the cast were terrific - especially Brad who was a brilliant escape from the sterotype. Criticisms? Franknfurter should be taller (not his fault - casting error) as he should be more comedically menacing. Eddie was woeful. Dr Scott not outrageous enough. They omitted the wedding???? Why? I hid my rice especially!! Overall? Brilliant fun and as good as it gets ... Read more

Rocky Horror

Every second is an absolute delight. The acting and singing top class. The energy never drops. There's no weakness in the cast at all. The live music is so good you forget it is live! I can't compare to other versions as I'm a Rocky virgin, but I know this was top-class entertainment. I would happily watch it again and there's loads of people I would drag along. ... Read more
