Ragtime

A Tony Award-winning toe-tapping triumph of a musical!
Why see Ragtime?
The Tony-winning triumph comes to the West End
Charing Cross Theatre welcomes the 1998 four-time Tony Award winning musical this October! One of the most acclaimed musicals of modern times is back in London for a new revival that paints a lush diorama of early 20th Century American life. Look out for appearances from some of the most important figures of the day, including Harry Houdini and Henry Ford, as three seemingly ordinary stories are all told amidst the music of the ragtime genre.
With a book by Terence McNally (It's Only a Play) and music and lyrics courtesy of Stephen Flaherty (Seussical) and Lyn Ahrens (Rocky The Musical), this is one toe-tapper of a musical you'd be mad to miss out on.
Ragtime weaves together the stories of three separate and very different families. There's the WASP family living in New York, the African-American family headed by ragtime musician Coalhouse Walker Jr. and the poor European migrants Tateh and his daughter, who arrive at Ellis Island looking for a better life.
