Classic Kay Mellor brilliance
Went to see the opening night of the Syndicate play last night and was not disappointed at all. Brilliant storyline with Drama, Comedy and wonderful dialogue. Seeing Gaynor Faye playing the aptly named Kay, Sam Giles is hilarious and the star of the show for me was Oliver Anthony (Kay's Grandson) playing the cheeky lovable Jamie with little glint in his eye. Overall it's a heartwarming play with snippets of real comedy and that underlying moral message that all Mellor's drama's have. So pleased I went to see it.
Enjoyable
I & my friend really enjoyed. It was lighthearted with a moral message. The star was definitely Sam who played Jamie.
Some great individual performances.
We felt the First half was a bit too long and stilted. Whilst the second half was rushed We loved the characters Jamie and Amy they stood out with their comedic performances and timing spot on. The weird relationship with the manager & his very young fiancé?! made us uncomfortable, she was young enough to be his granddaughter, and it wasn’t relevant to the story at all, quite pointless. We enjoyed our afternoon out but I’d rather rewatch the TV series. Sorry, I really wanted to love it.
Not good
Weak script weak story line unfunny the theater was less than half full . A waste of Saturday Night
Awful waste of money!
The Syndicate Tue 2nd June Theatre Royal Glasgow Overacting - loud and shouty - absolutely no humour - storyline a bit random. It really wasn’t very good. Very disappointing!
Very Disappointing
Travelled all the way down from Fife. We all thought it was awful. Not the least bit entertain8ng and the storyline was all over the place. The acoustics were awful as well. If we could demand our money back we would!
