Thought provoking
It definitely came to life in the flash backs which were fabulous, the acting was superb, I did wonder whether it would have been better without the return of Joan as her character seemed bit cliched and it seemed to be rushed towards the end, very different to Jerusalem and the ferrymen, but nevertheless a great production which I would recommend.
Lived up to my expectations
As someone who lived in a Blackpool guesthouse in 1976, I can guarantee the authenticity of the acting, accents and local references in this play. I found the storyline interesting and particularly enjoyed the singing and dancing element. I’m very glad I saw this play, it was a good evenings entertainment. However I don’t think it will go on as much social comment as Jerusalem and the Ferryman did.
Definitely worth seeing.
Abigail's Party meets Dancing at Lughnasa to a soundtrack by The Andrews Sisters. Then Godot turns up with a surprise package...
Too long, pointless
Way too long, did not keep me entertained. Was meant to be funny, but difficult to hear some of the characters. I just didn't get it!
Confusing.
Is it a comedy if so it died for me in the last third following a scene of repairing a jukebox which I am still struggling to understand the relevance. Best performances are from the younger members of the cast.
