LORD of the Flies
came on 26th May (afternoon) and was completely blown away, not only with amazing set, so eerie but most importantly with the excellent acting. What an amazing bunch of young actors, they kept me spellbound throughout the whole performance. Well done all concerned. Keep up the excellent productions Open Air Theatre, love everything I have seen there.
Jaw dropping & mesmerising
Whether or not you have been to the Open Air Theatre before, the entrance into the theatre's parameter is an affective experience. Walking into the amphitheatre itself always builds on your initial feelings but the sights, sounds & smells that this LofF production presents to you is utterly astonishing. I spent ages, absorbed by the detail & scale of the set - it's a good job that there is no curtain here or I wouldn't have taken in the first quarter of the play if the stage had been presented in a flourish. Whether or not you know the story, this production captivates you from the very first to the very last second & as the darkness deepens, so does the atmosphere. My only regret is not giving a standing ovation. Wondrous, mesmerising theatre.
brilliant
came with school and was blown away at the cleaverness of the play and the drama was brillint. Best play seen for a long time!
Superb acting and stunning set make this come alive
I saw The Crucible here last year which was truly spellbinding and was keen to see what they would do with Lord of the Flies and I wasn't disappointed. Superb cast of young actors - especially the lad playing Piggy - and the set with it's plane wreckage was inspired. The spiral into savagery co-incided with the fading light and it really was truly captivating - you really felt you were there. Strongly recommend to anyone but if you are studying this then it's a must.
