Henry V
Fantastic production. Very convincing performance from Jude Law and all the cast. Novel, unique and exciting action sequences.
Breathes life into a difficult play
The cast deservedly received standing applause. Jude Law brings a presence, humour and life to what can be a dull play. What a great stage actor he has become. Loved his timing, performance and that of all the cast, no one was weak. Some real gems. Ron Cook simply brilliant, Ashley Zhangazha well performed and clearly and Adrian Lester fan. Powerful.Only thing that grated a little was too many 'look you's". A simple stage that didn't detract. Go see it if there are any tickets left.
Fantastic
Mesmerised by Jude Law's dazzling performance. Brilliant!! A must see! Thank you.
Shakespeare at face value
I am glad to have seen this show. Theatre does not always have to be about re-inventing the wheel and digging for a "new interpretation" between lines written in the past just in order to suit the taste of some "experts". This production is what theatre used to be and what I think the author intended: a way of bringing a story to life and visualising events that an audience never witnessed; a way of seducing and capturing an audience and make them part of a story. In simple terms: the Cinema of the middle-ages :-) .. Each member of the cast is very good. Jude Law owns the stage with thoughtful acting, physical and vocal presence. He appears to be fully committed which is a joy to see. The set is cleverly done, the words are well delivered - Shakespeare comes to life. An entertaining evening - simply step into the shoes of a 16th century audience and enjoy it as a treat. It works.
I don't go to the theatre much
I don't go to the theatre much, maybe once every two or three years as someones' birthday treat but if I could be guaranteed the same intensity between cast and audience that I experienced here then I would go more often, I might even give acting a go myself, (that last sentiment was a revelation to me - I am the sort person who trembles and stumbles with panic and terror over three or four lines in front of friends on a Burns night.) In parts of the play the energy of the words and casts' performance seemed reflected back to them by the audience and again by the cast back to the audience and so on in a thrilling collaboration that made me feel part of play. It was wonderful, thank you.
Truly Amazing
Having left the Noel Coward theatre six hours ago I am still relishing the emotions invoked by Jude Law's portrayal of Henry V. It was passionate, stirring, funny and exhilarating. The cast were truly wonderful but Jude Law was spectacular. A performance I shall never forget
