Wonderful

I saw Edward Scissorhands for a second time today, at Bristol hippodrome. I saw the show in December at Sadler’s wells in london. The performance today in Bristol was outstanding, Liam Mower was brilliant as Edward Scissorhands and the cast were fabulous. We were engrossed and emotional by the end. This was in strong contrast to the show in London which was disappointing, with different actors/dancers playing Edward and Kim, there was no buzz, less dancing, the whole show fell flat. I am so pleased that by happenstance I got to see this show again, it truly is wonderful, what a difference the right cast brings to it.

Amazingly beautiful introduction to Ballet

This was my first experience of Ballet and as a huge Tim Burton fan, I had to see this, though a little dubious of it being a Ballet. How utterly silly of me. Both me and my Autistic daughter were captivated and enchanted from the curtain rise. Edward Scissorhands in particular was superb and every attention to detail was divine. I have fallen in love with Ballet, thank you to all involved. X

One of the best shows I’ve ever seen

Went to see Edward Scissorhands on a trip to Liverpool with my mum and sister. None of us had ever seen a ballet before and went in not knowing what to expect. And it was absolutely incredible. It made you laugh and cry. The emotions conveyed by the dancers were so powerful and coupled with the incredible set, music and lighting just made it such a moving performance. We couldn’t have been the only ones that enjoyed it as the whole theatre was on their feet at the end. I’d recommend this show to anyone - something a whole family could enjoy whether you were a fan of dance or not. We all came out of the theatre raving about it and then called our partners to rave about it to them! Would happily see it over and over. Thank you to the dancers, crew and theatre staff for a wonderful experience.

Having just read the only two reviews, I feel I went to see a very different performance. I was so moved by the first half, I couldn't wait for the second half. I became completely immersed in the whole performance... it was very funny at times, sad, emotional, magical, delightful and just kept giving. A stunning performance, beautifully choreographed. So good, I could easily go again and still be bolled over.

The set and staging was amazing, the dancers/ actors brilliant at conveying their feelings with expressions and movements only. By far and away my favourite Mattew Bourne production that I've seen so far. The comedy elements and characters added levity to what could have been an overly morose subject. Although a sad ending, I left the theatre with a big smile on my face!
