An unexpected treat
I couldn't imagine how you could turn a film based around running onto the stage, and it was only the reviews of others that made me go to see it. I'm so glad I did. The exceptionally hard working cast, imaginative direction and slickly choreographed action made for an exciting and moving evening in the theatre. Top tip - sit on one of the seats on the stage to really feel part of it!
Moving & inspiring
This play was stunning in its performance & conception. If you are wondering how the races could be portrayed realistically, this was achieved and more. We Would highly recommend that you see this play & we are so glad we were in London at the right time. The message is pertinent for young & old.
Tremendously moving
We saw Chariots of Fire at the Gielgud theatre on Oct 18th and absolutely loved it. We were expecting a standard sort of west end play and were left entranced by how they recreated the excitement of the atheletes. I won't spoil it, just to say that it was an outstanding production, bravo everyone!
Olympic champion Paavo Nurmi missing
Iwas in your theatre in London the 30th August. I was satisfied with the performance but as a Finnish citizen I´m wondering why you didn´t mension the name of Paavo Nurmi, the famous finnish olympic champion. He won 5 goldmetals in Paris in 1924 in running. You should at least have mentioned my country for instance in the parade of the athletics marching to the opening ceremony Denmark and Norway were however mentioned. Raine Vuoristo from Turku the hometown on Paavo Nurmi.
