Wonderful revival of an excellent show
I have very fond memories of the original London show and loved this production, it was flowing, intimate and brilliantly acted, sung and directed. Great use of space and good sound. Loved it!
One of the Best
Having seen most shows in London over the last 40 years, this has to be one of the best, having seen this twice at the Menier,& the original four times. The three leading actors where about as good as it gets, but a special thankyou to Dominic Tighe who took over the part of Alex on my first visit, must become a star, once again thankyou, for two wonderful evenings,
Wondreful production, first class performances!
My first visit to the Chocolate Factory, and what a revelation! From start to finish the evening was superb - I recommend having drinks and dinner in the restaurant beforehand as the food was nothing short of gourmet, and the service outstanding and just so friendly. Really they can't do enough for you. A nice touch was West End 'legend' Dave Willetts coming over to our table and saying hello to everyone. This kinda sums up the overall friendliness and intimacy of the place. The seating is right on the stage, and being in Row A was amazing - right in front of the actors! For a small venue putting on a big West End show it couldn't have been easy, but they achieved it superbly. The staging, performances and orchestra were first class - you were drawn into the story right from the start. Katherine Kingsley as Rose must surely be the find of the West End, having come straight from '39 Steps' to Aspects, and as 'Rose' she's flawless. Seriously - see it while you can!
Best yet
This production was probably the best I have ever seen--not one weak character. Voices/characters were remarkable. Staging was excellent and orchestra/sound was very, very good. I am an "ole" performing arts professor and have seen many Broadway shows and even saw the new "Love Never Dies", but this production was better. Thank you for making our trip to London so wonderful! Best of luck to the cast and crew for their bright futures!
Go on - give it a go!!
I am self confessed "Aspects" fan so I approached this performance with some signficant enthusiam I must admit. The staging (within the obvious confines of the venue) was excellent and the performance both dramatically and musically was first class. However, the venue is poor. Far, far too hot and stuffy. In fact my wife could not face coming back in after the interval. Pity such a fine staging of this revival of "Aspects" is at risk of being spoilt by a second (or should that be third) rate venue!!
A disappointment
Give this show a miss. The theatre is like a sauna and the story dull. There is a scene involving a gun just before the interval, which if you watch the second half, you wish had ended in a blood bath.
