A musical set in a period of history I knew a little about from reading "Snow falling on Ceders". It tells the story of a US Japanese family ripped apart by incarceration in a concentration camp in the US dustbowl after Pearl Harbour. The few weaker numbers in the 'enjoyable in the moment' score are more than compensated by a cast that makes you care about each character. It is also a story about the importance of forgiveness. George Takai (Mr Sulu from the original Star Trek) in the cast will be an added incentive for many to go but the show stands well on its own many merits.
