Final weeks to see this hit live

Congratulations to all involved with The Inheritance at the Noel Coward Theatre as they won the award for Best New Play at last night's Evening Standard Awards! The two-part epic is in its final weeks at the West End venue.

After a sold-out run at the off-West End Young Vic in 2017, The Inheritance completed its West End transfer to the Noel Coward Theatre on October 13, 2018. In her review, Kitty McCarron called the piece 'one of the decades most important masterpieces'.

Stephen Daldry directs the two-part epic and stars a cast of over 13, including theatrical royalty Vanessa Redgrave.

What is The Inheritance about?

It was 1983 when the spectre of AIDS reared its head in New York's flourishing gay scene, causing worldwide panic and mistrust towards gay men. Now a whole generation has passed after the countless deaths caused by the cruel disease; Lopez's poignant and tear-jerking drama examines the legacy of gay men today in New York, where reminders of the epidemic are still all-too-real. We're introduced to a cast of characters whose lives, love and hopes intwine as Lopez pitches us between past and present, illustrating the gay experience of the last 40 years with deft detail, wit and passion.

The Inheritance is currently playing at the Noel Coward through to January 5.
