Dreamboats and Petticoats

Dreamboats and Petticoats at Wyndhams Theatre

Why see Dreamboats and Petticoats?

Dreamboats and Petticoats became one of the biggest selling albums of the Noughties after its release in 2008, amassing an amazing 600,000 + sales. The second album, went straight to No.2 in the charts, within a week of release. The musical as a result is inspired by the runaway success of the albums, written by the team behind hit BBC comedies Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds Of A Feather, and Shine On Harvey Moon.

WHAT IS THE SHOW ABOUT?

In 1961, emotions run high as talented young musicians Norman and Bobby compete to win the hearts of their adoring female fans - and more importantly, the gorgeous Laura. But when Laura shows that she's a dab hand with the guitar herself, rock 'n' roll fame beckons, and friendships threaten to fall apart, and fledgling relationships almost fail to take off, as their world turns upside down forever.

This highly entertaining jukebox musical conjures up sights and sounds of the Fifties, and features songs between 1957-63, with the likes of Roy Orbison, Eddie Cochrane, The Shadows featured, and many more!

At the time of its West End runs, the musical recieved mixed reviews, and was noted for its light storytelling and suitability to an older audience - however the combined popularity of the albums and musicals have ensured that "Dreamboats" will be entertaining for ages yet!
