The long-awaited stage adaption of 101 Dalmatians
Regent's Park Open Air Theatre's 2022 season will finally bring their long-awaited production of the rollicking animal adventure 101 Dalmatians! Based on the classic children's story by English novelist Dodie Smith, this brand new musical features a book by award-winning playwright Zinnie Harris, music by Tony and Olivier Award-winner Douglas Hodge, direction by the theatre's Artistic Director Timothy Sheader, and puppetry by celebrated puppeteer Toby Olie.
What is the story?
The story follows Pongo and Missis, a pair of delightfully spotted dalmatians who live in London with their kind and caring owners the Dearlys. The only thing that makes their idyllic life better is the arrival of their 15 puppies, but their bliss is short-lived thanks to the machinations of their evil neighbour Cruella de Vil, the villain to end all villains. When she steals the pups for their fur, Pongo and Missis take matters into their own paws and em-bark on a quest to rescue them.
